What's New With Beef?
Beef, we all know the basics. Hamburgers, Spaghetti, Roast, Ribeye, T-bone, etc., the tried and true staples that we can rely on time and time again.
But, have you heard of Chuck Steak, Flat Iron, Tri Tip, Coulotte? What about birraria tacos, gyros, bruschetta, or beef banh mi bowl?
Sometimes we not only get in a rut with cooking but also aren't sure what we are looking for.
There are two things I like to do when looking for inspiration. Try a new cut of beef or search a different type of cuisine that we normally don't have.
First up, "new" cuts of beef.
New cuts of beef, to me, are cuts we have never tried or do not routinely cook. Can new cuts of beef taste that different? Yes, they really can. We are HUGE fans of Tri Tip and Coulotte at our house - even though we cook them somewhat similar to steak, it really is a different eating experience. You can also have some fun with new cuts when researching how to cook them. There are a lot of chimichurri recipes (click here for recipe) or compound butters that add a little extra "something" to grilling cuts.

Tri Tip, Coulotte, Denver/Flat Iron, Chuck Steak, Skirt Steak, Flank Steak
Next up, what haven't you had in a while?
Since we live in the country, we will get a craving for our favorite restaurants/cuisine as we do not go out to eat often. I use this craving for meal inspiration. Beef Banh Mi Bowls, Shredded Beef Tostada, Crunch Wrap Supreme, gyros, bruschetta (with a slice of steak on top is phenomenal), and so on. Many times these recipes are great twists on staples like ground beef, roast, etc., and don't take much time to cook.
