How do I Order a beef share?

Please fill out the form on our Contact Us page regarding an order for a beef share. We will walk you through the process and you will receive an invoice via email for your $200 down payment. 

What Cuts are Available? 

All cuts are available! When you order a 1/4, 1/2, or whole beef share, the butcher will contact you in regards to how you would like it processed. If you order a 1/4 of beef, it is the front and back cuts of the animal evenly distributed. The butcher will walk through with you the "standard" cuts available and average thickness that customers prefer.

Estimations on a 1/4, 1/2, or whole beef are as follows (this is the hanging weight, or carcass weight, of the animal including bones):​

  • 1/4 beef weighs approximately 200-250 lbs.
  • 1/2 beef weighs approximately 400-450 lbs.
  • Whole beef weighs approximately 800-900 lbs.

**This is an estimation of weight, every animal is different and they do not weigh the same** 

You will receive approximately 50-55% of the carcass weight in beef. For example, if a quarter of beef weighs 200 lbs you will receive approximately 100 lbs in beef. This weight will vary depending on your processing instructions and the cuts you receive. ​

There are many cuts available and our helpful butcher at ASC Locker will walk you through your options. Below is a "standard" list of what is available. This is what the butcher will go through with you and ask what cuts you would like, how thick would you like your steaks cut, how many steaks per package, what size of ground beef packages you would like, etc.

If there is a cut you are interested in that is not on the list, feel free to ask us or the butcher! Be sure to discuss processing costs with any cut your ask for that is not on the standard Butcher Processing Sheet.

When will my beef share be ready?

Once we have the hanging weight (carcass weight), we will contact you with the weight and the remaining balance of your payment. Separate invoices will be received from D&D Beef and ASC Locker. From that time, it will be approximately 14-21 days of dry aging before the butcher will contact you with how you would like it processed. Dry aging provides you with the most tender and flavorful product, a difference you can taste!.

Once your meat is ready to pick up, you can pick it up yourself at ASC locker in West Point, NE or pick at a selected delivery location times and dates in Blair, NE or Elkhorn, NE.

Do you have beef available year round?

We try to have beef available year round however due to demand, there is sometimes a wait list for 1/4, 1/2, and whole beef shares. If we are sold out when you contact us we will then add you to our wait list! Once beef is available, we will contact you.

Do you deliver?

We deliver 1/4, 1/2, and whole shares to the Runza (off of Highway 31) in Elkhorn, NE and Scooters in Blair, NE on Saturdays. We deliver to each location at approximately 9:00 am with the cost of delivery costing $50. (Saturday doesn't work? No problem! We will do our best to work out a time with you to deliver to our designated drop off location.) Delivery of beef shares will be scheduled with you via email once the butcher states the beef is ready.
