Steak with Creamy Blue Cheese and Onion Sauce

I have a confession, when I eat a steak I only use salt, pepper, and maybe some of our Montreal Steak Seasoning. When @lolosdesserts shared this blue cheese and onion sauce, I knew it would be a great one to try!

Quote from lolosdesserts.com "We get our beef from D & D Beef and truth be told, their steaks are so good that you don’t even need a sauce however, this sauce added with one of their incredible steaks (might I suggest a ribeye) is a whole new level of amazing!"

Servings: 5-8

Ingredients:

4 Tablespoons Butter

1 Large Yellow Onion, sliced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles

Instructions:

  1. In a large saute pan, heat butter on med high heat. Add sliced onions and cook until dark and caramelized. About 7 minutes or so.

  2. Once the onions are soft and you have that dark color, then reduce your heat to low-medium and add the heavy cream.

  3. Cook for about 5 minutes until thickened. Add blue cheese and stir again until melted. Serve over steaks or as a side sauce.
