Our #DandDstory wouldn't be complete without my sister Courtney.
If there is one thing that Courtney and I can agree on, it is our love of animals. From goats to ducks, we were the little kids who had the joy of growing up with every random animal but with that came responsibility. Many of my childhood memories involve Courtney and I taking care of all the animals. Feeding and watering, cleaning pens, and plenty of playing in between. Our parents taught us when you own an animal, they are your responsibility. You take care of them first every single day and Courtney was a great leader for her little sister to learn these traits of animal husbandry from.
As we got older, Courtney led the way when it came to cattle. Her determination, drive to learn, and work ethic when it came to showing cattle was my inspiration. Many early mornings and late nights were spent together working cattle. Some of the most fun we had together was showing cattle across the country, checking summer pastures, and driving our parents crazy.
You may not see her much as she lives in Minnesota with her family. She helps with cattle registrations and paperwork, as well as comes back and helps as much as she can.
