Brisket Marinade
Our go to brisket recipe for fall apart, melt in your mouth brisket. If you have never cooked a brisket before, this is the first recipe you should try. Simple, easy to make, and everyone will love it!

INGREDIENTS:

2 cans beef consomme

1/2 cup lemon juice

1 1/2 c. low sodium soy sauce

5 cloves of chopped garlic

2 tbsp. liquid smoke

5-10 lb D&D Brisket (don't worry if your brisket is on the smaller side. I usually use this recipe for a 5 to 6 lb brisket)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine all ingredients in a large roasting pan. Place brisket in marinade. (I take one of the measuring cups and pour marinade over the top of the brisket to make sure it is covered) Cover tightly with foil and marinade for 24 to 48 hours.

Place the pan covered in foil into a 300 degree oven. Cook brisket for approximately 40 minutes per pound.

If you are using a smaller brisket, you can cook in a crock pot. I placed the brisket and marinade in the crock pot, turned to low, and cooked all day. Turned out great!

Enjoy!

Karen – I would still marinade it for the 24-48 hours in the fridge first before cooking it in the crock pot.

I think it would be good with a chuck roast as well, haven’t tried that yet!

When cooking beef brisket in crock pot, did you still Marinade for 24-48 hours in fridge first?
Also, could this recipe be used with Chuck Roast?
